In the winter, give enough water to keep the leaves from shriveling.
It needs a large pot because it's root base is enormous; and it cannot be overwatered.
Elephant bush dropping leaves. HU 2 years ago. We have had this plant for about two months. It was doing well till recently it has been dropping a lot of leaves. When we first bought it, it was full and bushy. Now not so much. However there is new growth. I think I may have overwatered it.

As long as they are being replaced by new ones on top, it's nothing to worry about. What you've got going on looks like dehydration to me.

Just by touching it a little bit tenths of healthy leaves are falling. The branch has started loosing its leaves from the top and gradually dying downwards as if something is eating it.
